Bill Kenwright’s multi award-winning production of Blood Brothers has announced its cast for the forthcoming Autumn 2026 UK tour, alongside a raft of newly confirmed dates for Spring 2027.
The legendary production will open at The Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare on 8 September 2026 before visiting Cambridge, Oxford, Chelmsford, Grimsby, Chester, Birmingham, Leicester, Crawley, Malvern and Northampton.
Vivienne Carlyle will return to the role of Mrs Johnstone, having won nightly standing ovations for her performance of the show’s emotional finale, ‘Tell Me It’s Not True’.
Carlyle is also set to perform the song at the 10th Anniversary of Magic at the Musicals at the Royal Albert Hall on 20 September 2026, with the concert due to be broadcast on Magic Radio at a later date.
Kristofer Harding will reprise the role of the Narrator for the first part of the tour, appearing from Weston-super-Mare to Chester, before Richard Munday takes over the role from Birmingham through to Northampton.
Sean Jones and Joe Sleight will continue as the twin brothers Mickey and Eddie, while Tricia Adele Turner joins as Mrs Lyons and Beth Danher will play Linda.
The autumn company also includes Jamil Abbasi, Sarah Moss, Amelia Poggenpoel and Jack Anthony Smart, alongside returning cast members Tim Churchill, Michael Gillette, Alex Harland and Graeme Kinniburgh.
Written by Willy Russell, Blood Brothers remains one of the most celebrated musicals in British theatre history. The production surpassed 10,000 performances in London’s West End and has enjoyed acclaimed runs around the world, including in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan.
The musical tells the story of twins separated at birth and raised in very different circumstances, whose lives become intertwined with devastating consequences.
Since its beginnings as a school play in Liverpool in 1981, Blood Brothers has gone on to win multiple awards in London and receive seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.
The newly announced Spring 2027 tour will begin at Southend’s Cliffs Pavilion on 12 January and will travel to Southampton, Dartford, Sheffield, New Brighton, Cardiff, Eastbourne, Woking, Blackpool, Norwich, Billingham, Skegness, Torquay, Manchester, Croydon, Bath and Leeds, before concluding in Shrewsbury on 22 May 2027. Casting for the Spring 2027 leg is yet to be announced.
