Acclaimed performance artist Katie Greenall will tour her hit show BLUBBER across the South East this spring, supported by house southeast theatre network and The Hale.

Following its success at the Edinburgh Fringe, BLUBBER dives into themes of body image and self-acceptance through poetic storytelling, humour and innovative use of song, soundscape and waterwork. The show invites audiences to join Katie’s journey of reconnecting with her body, asking the question: what does care look like for a fat body?

Greenall said, “Touring has always been an aspiration for BLUBBER, and in the current landscape it is certainly no easy feat. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of house and The Hale in making it possible to take the show across the South East. As an artist who grew up in the region, I’m thrilled to be bringing the work back home and sharing it with local audiences.”

The tour will visit twelve venues, including Marlowe Theatre Canterbury (18 February), Farnham Maltings (21 February), Worthing Connaught Theatre (24 February), artsdepot London (26 February), Old Fire Station Oxford (27 February), Phoenix Arts Bordon (28 February), The Spring Havant (15 April), South Street Arts Centre Reading (16 April), Chichester Festival Theatre (18 April), The Seagull Lowestoft (23 April), The Workshop King’s Lynn (24 April) and Norwich Theatre Stage Two (25 April).

Previous praise for BLUBBER includes “majestic” (★★★★★ Binge Fringe) and “an exemplary work on the subject of finding comfort in your own skin” (★★★★ The Scotsman).
