The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, in partnership with Tiny Giant Entertainment, has announced a major UK tour of The King’s Speech following its run at the Barn Theatre this autumn.
Directed by Loveday Ingram, the production will play at the Barn Theatre from 9 October to 7 November 2026 before embarking on a nationwide tour, opening at Oxford Playhouse on 13 January 2027 and running through to the end of June.
The tour will visit venues across the UK, including Coventry, Cheltenham, Clwyd, Darlington, Blackpool, Bath, Guildford, Aberdeen, Nottingham, Leeds, Eastbourne, Leicester, Bromley, Wolverhampton, Southend, Salisbury, Ipswich, Winchester, Northampton, Carlisle, Cambridge, Windsor and Liverpool.
Based on David Seidler’s stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning film, The King’s Speech tells the story of the future King George VI, known as Bertie, as he battles a debilitating speech impediment during a period of national uncertainty.
Facing an historic radio address with Britain on the brink of war, Bertie turns to an unconventional Australian speech therapist. What follows is an unexpected friendship that helps shape one of the most significant moments in modern royal history.
