Ben Platt will be joined by Gregor Milne and Barry James in the UK premiere of Midnight at The Never Get at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

The new musical, written by Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy-winner Mark Sonnenblick, runs from 11 July to 12 September 2026, with an official opening night on 20 July.

Directed by Tony and Drama Desk Award-winner David Cromer, this brand-new production marks Platt’s London theatre debut in a leading role.

Set in 1965 New York City, the show follows Trevor Copeland and Arthur Brightman, whose relationship must remain hidden at a time when their love is against the law.

Performing in a secret nightclub act titled “Midnight”, the pair use music as an act of defiance while navigating personal and political tensions during the early days of a social revolution.

Ben Platt, known for his Tony Award-winning performance in Dear Evan Hansen, leads the cast alongside Gregor Milne, whose credits include Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard, and Barry James, who returns to the Menier following Little Shop of Horrors.

The production features a creative team including set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Jonathan Lipman, lighting designer Heather Gilbert, sound designer Paul Groothuis, and musical supervisor and orchestrator Andrew Resnick.

Midnight at The Never Get is conceived by Sam Bolen, Max Friedman and Mark Sonnenblick, with Sonnenblick providing the book, music and lyrics.

The musical is presented by the Menier Chocolate Factory in association with Greg Berlanti, Robbie Rogers and ATG Productions.
