Broadway and television star Daniel Breaker will join the critically acclaimed West End production of Hadestown as Hermes from 29 December 2025.

Breaker takes over the role from Cedric Neal, having played Hermes at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway since February this year. His other credits include Hamilton, The Book of Mormon and Shrek the Musical on Broadway, as well as television roles in Billions and Girls5Eva.

He joins Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice, Chris Jarman as Hades, Nicola Roberts as Persephone until 18 January 2026, and Joy Wielkens as Persephone from 20 January to 8 March 2026. Dylan Wood continues as Orpheus.

The cast also includes Melanie Bright, Allie Daniel and Lauran Rae as the Fates, alongside Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, Laura Delany and Sebastian Lim-Seet as the Workers. Swings are Lucinda Buckley, Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda and Jasmine Triadi.

Hadestown is currently booking at the Lyric Theatre, London, until 27 September 2026, with casting for performances from 10 March to be announced soon.

Blending American songwriting traditions from indie folk to pop, blues and New Orleans-inspired jazz, Hadestown features music, lyrics and book by Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell, directed by Tony® Award-winner Rachel Chavkin.

The musical takes audiences on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back, intertwining two mythic love stories – that of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone – in a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience.
