Featuring music, lyrics and book by Anaïs Mitchell, Hadestown blends indie folk, pop, blues and New Orleans-inspired jazz to retell the mythic love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone.
Developed from Mitchell’s original concept album with director Rachel Chavkin, the musical has become a global phenomenon, winning eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
The Original Broadway Cast Recording has amassed nearly one billion streams and has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Casting and the full creative team for the UK and Ireland tour will be announced at a later date.
Hadestown is produced by Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy.
