Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Atonement by Ian McEwan, adapted for the stage by Christopher Hampton and directed by Adam Penford.
The production will run at Chichester Festival Theatre from 29 May to 20 June, with a press night on Friday 5 June.
Dame Siân Phillips will play the older Briony Tallis, returning to Chichester Festival Theatre following a celebrated career across stage and screen.
Miriam Petche will star as Cecilia Tallis. She is known to television audiences for her role as Sweetpea Golightly in the HBO and BBC series Industry.
Jasper Talbot will play Robbie Turner, returning to Chichester where he previously appeared as Mick Jagger in Redlands.
The company also includes James Backway, Tom Chapman, Isabella Dempster as the young Briony Tallis, Yanexi Enriquez, Debra Gillett, Gabin Kongolo, Natasha Magigi and Jonathan Oliver.
Stretching from the 1930s through the Second World War to the present day, Atonement tells the story of a single accusation that irrevocably alters the lives of two lovers and haunts the woman who made it for the rest of her life.
The creative team includes designer Anthony Ward, lighting designer Aideen Malone, composer and sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, video designer Andrzej Goulding, movement and intimacy director Ben Wright and casting director Helena Palmer CDG.
