Following a critically acclaimed UK tour and a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Consumed by Karis Kelly will return in Spring 2026 with new dates in Belfast and London.

The production, directed by Paines Plough’s Joint Artistic Director Katie Posner, will play at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast from 24 February to 8 March 2026.

It will then transfer to London’s Park Theatre, running from 18 March to 18 April 2026.

Consumed is a pitch-black and twisted comedy that explores dysfunctional family dynamics, generational trauma, and national boundaries.

The play centres around a 90th birthday party that no one seems to want, bringing four generations of Northern Irish women under one roof.

Winner of the Women’s Prize for Playwriting 2022, Consumed has been described as “bold, dangerous and unmissable.”

The production was featured in Rolling Stone’s “Ten stand-out shows of the Edinburgh Fringe 2025” and hailed by The National as “a show that will stay with you for the rest of your life.”

Katie Posner, director of Consumed, said:
“Following a sold-out run in Edinburgh and the joy of meeting thousands of audience members across the country, I’m so happy that Consumed will continue its life with a remount in Spring 2026. Bringing the play home to Belfast – the city in which it is set – means so much, and I’m thrilled we get to do that in partnership with our brilliant friends at the Lyric. I’m equally delighted to begin a new co-producing relationship with the Park Theatre in London, whose platforming of new work and dynamic theatre space makes them the perfect home for this play. Alongside our original co-producers, this revival is going to be knottier, funnier and more thrilling than ever, a chance to share once again this show which has been hailed as bold, dangerous and unmissable. This kitchen is going to get hot, don’t miss out.”

The Spring 2026 remount is presented by Paines Plough, Park Theatre and the Lyric Belfast, in association with Belgrade Theatre, Sheffield Theatres and the Women’s Prize for Playwriting.
