Crossroads Live and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures have announced the first casting for the long‑awaited West End production of Beetlejuice The Musical.
David Fynn will take on the title role, bringing his distinctive comic energy to one of musical theatre’s most anarchic characters.
Performances begin at the Prince Edward Theatre on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
Fynn’s extensive stage credits include School of Rock at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, She Stoops to Conquer at the National Theatre, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Donmar Warehouse.
His screen work ranges from Am I Being Unreasonable? and Belgravia: The Next Chapter to The Pembrokeshire Murders and HBO’s Avenue 5.
Speaking about joining the production, David Fynn said: “It’s a show I’ve admired for a long time – bold, funny, and totally chaotic. Getting the chance to step into such an iconic role is both a huge honour and a slightly surreal experience. I’m looking forward to bringing my own take to it while staying true to what makes the character so much fun. Plus, I do look good in stripes, and I am a little dead inside.”
Following its hit Broadway run, Beetlejuice The Musical makes its West End debut for a strictly limited engagement until Saturday 17 April 2027.
Based on Tim Burton’s cult classic, the musical follows Lydia Deetz, a teenager caught between the living and the dead, and the mischievous spectre Beetlejuice.
The Broadway creative team reunites for the London production, including a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, and direction by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers.
Design and production credits include David Korins, William Ivey Long, Kenneth Posner, Peter Hylenski, Peter Nigrini, Michael Curry, Jeremy Chernick, Michael Weber, Charles G. LaPointe, Joe Dulude II, David Dabbon, and Matt Stine.
Casting is by Harry Blumenau CDG CSA, with UK general management by Crossroads Live UK and US general management by Bespoke Theatricals.
Beetlejuice The Musical is based on the Academy Award‑winning 1988 film written by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson and directed by Tim Burton.
The musical has previously played on Broadway, toured the United States, and been staged in Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.
