A major new staging of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage will open at the Capital Theatre in West London from 16 October 2026.
The revival marks the inaugural production at the new 676‑seat purpose‑built venue, located within Westfield London.
Tickets for the initial booking period (until 21 March 2027) are on sale now.
Produced by Karl Sydow, in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions, the much‑loved musical is written by Eleanor Bergstein, screenwriter of the original 1987 film.
This new reimagining is directed and designed by Federico Bellone, whose refreshed approach promises a more immersive and intimate experience for audiences.
Set in the summer of 1963, the story follows Baby as she encounters charismatic dance instructor Johnny Castle at Kellerman’s resort, leading to one of the most famous coming‑of‑age romances in cinema and stage history.
Audiences can expect all the iconic moments, including Baby’s unforgettable transformation, the famous lift and the beloved line “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”
The production features new choreography by Chiara Vecchi and a classic soundtrack of 35 hit songs such as Hungry Eyes, Hey Baby, Do You Love Me? and (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life, performed live under the musical supervision of Richard John.
The Capital Theatre itself is designed to offer an exceptional audience experience with no seat more than nine rows from the stage.
Its state‑of‑the‑art facilities include premium rehearsal rooms, backstage spaces, a foyer café, an onsite box office and a merchandise store.
The creative team also includes Lighting Designer Valerio Tiberi, Sound Designer Chris Whybrow, Associate Director Juliet Gough, Costume Designer Chiara Donato, Casting Director Harry Blumenau CDG and Production Manager Stuart Tucker.
The new production coincides with a major UK and Ireland tour of the original staging, running from August 2026 to May 2027.
