The Donmar Warehouse has released rehearsal images for The Guilty, offering an early look at Russell Tovey in Chloë Moss’s tense new thriller ahead of performances this summer.
Directed by Punchdrunk’s Felix Barrett, The Guilty will run from 20 June to 15 August, with a press night scheduled for 30 June.
The newly released images show Tovey in rehearsals as troubled police officer Joe, who takes a desperate 999 call that unfolds into a high-stakes, real-time drama.
As he attempts to piece together fragmented clues, the story builds into a gripping narrative where, as the synopsis reveals, “nothing is quite as it seems.”
Written by award-winning playwright Chloë Moss, the production is based on the films Den Skyldige and The Guilty, bringing the story to the Donmar stage in a new theatrical adaptation.
The release of rehearsal images marks the next stage in the production’s development, as anticipation builds for one of the key productions in the Donmar’s 2026 season.
Announcing the season, Artistic Director Tim Sheader and Executive Director Henny Finch said: “We are delighted to announce our next four productions coming up at the Donmar: three world premieres and a major revival.”
They added: “As ever, the stories we tell live on the Donmar stage are created to connect us all and celebrate our togetherness – whether that’s a conversation between heartbroken parents in Mass; a shared gasp and thrill in The Guilty; a sweeping summer romance in A Month in the Country or a funny, moving coming of age story in Ilford Boy.”
