The Body I Left in Susquehanna National Forest arrives at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a darkly comic and unsettling look at relationships, identity and denial.
Written by Tom Quackenbush and directed by Katie Kunkel, the play follows newlyweds Claire and Patrick as their honeymoon takes a surreal turn after a car accident leaves them stranded in a forest. What begins as a shocking event becomes increasingly strange when the victim refuses to stay silent.
As tensions rise and the couple confront uncomfortable truths about their relationship, the story blends dark humour with elements of horror and absurdity. At its core, the production explores insecurity, compromise and the fragile foundations of modern relationships.
Kunkel said, “It’s a relationship unravelling under extreme circumstances, where absurdity becomes a way to process something deeply human.”
The Body I Left in Susquehanna National Forest runs at theSpace @ Niddry from 07 – 22 August at 21:15. Tickets are on sale here
