Four Star Review from Theatre WeeklyBernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett is a captivating and critically acclaimed cabaret with rhythmic live music. The international cabaret icon Bernie Dieter and a troupe of outrageous artists present this provocative show at The Beauty Spiegeltent at Underbelly’s Circus Hub on the Meadows.

This show includes shocking contortionism, gender-bending aerial acts, fire-breathing sideshow and circus, all brought together by strong vocals. The hand balance maestro, Danik Abishev, leaps between poles using only his hands, maintaining the poise of someone walking easily on flat ground. At the peak of his jump, Danik held his body in a remarkable 90-degree bend. This breathtaking moment beautifully presents the coexistence of technical skill and physical strength.

The contortion artist Soliana Ersie shows extraordinary flexibility by twisting her body into nearly impossible shapes. Aerial performer Jarred Dewey appears to dance against gravity with his daring acrobatics. Each fall that may appear to risk an accident is skillfully concluded with a graceful and composed pose. Iva Rosebud is an avant-garde drag artist whose performance can blow your mind. When Iva carries a cream cake onto the stage, will this be a touching moment? No—you’ll never guess what the charming Iva’s next move will be!

However, Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett is not just about the incredible talent of the performers. The live punk rock band adds an extra punch, strengthening the show’s main message: “My body, my choices.” Bernie’s compelling voice invites everyone to explore their true desires and encourages acting on them honestly. It’s a call to step out from behind the screen and welcome the freeing energy of this unforgettable night.

The exciting audience participation is one of the most anticipated aspects of this production. Socks, underwear or lace may fly into the audience’s face. Don’t be shy—just enjoy the gin-soaked atmosphere.
