Edinburgh Interview: Sarah Keyworth on Pacific

Sarah Keyworth

Pacific is coming to The Pleasance what can you tell us about it?

It’s called Pacific. It’s about masculinity and strength and about how I like to think I’m a big strong boy when I’m actually a tiny lady.

What’s the one thing about this show that makes it different from all the rest?

I’m in it. It’s the only show I’m in.

Is it based on real events?

Yes it’s based on my life and my family and the way I see the world. It has some true life stories that I think not many people are talking about so should be quite interesting to see the audience reaction!

How does this show differ to other works you’ve written?

It’s a bit darker and a bit more complicated than last year’s show. There’s no right answer to the issues I’m exploring.

How have the team at The Pleasance made you feel welcome?

I love performing at Pleasance. The Courtyard has such a great atmosphere and the staff are incredible. Last year my venue team pretty much kept me alive.

Why should people come see Pacific?

It will be funny and silly and at times I might even say something profound.

Sarah Keyworth’s Pacific is at Pleasance Baby Grand 31st July – 25th August (not 13th)
