Four Star Review from Theatre WeeklyEntering the world of Chevalier created and performed by Kalle Lehto was like stepping into a dreamscape that effortlessly fused childish imagination with heart pounding excitement. From the very first moment, the audience is transported to the most magical and happy play in the world – a circus!

Kalle Lehto is a virtuoso acrobat and juggler. His co-star of the show is a cast of Children’s hobby horses which come to life under their ringmaster‘s command. A burst of laughter erupted from the kids in the audience as the stage transformed by a lively choo-choo train circling around, and the horse captain revealed itself from within. Such moments of pure joy are woven throughout the performance.

I was utterly impressed by how well Kalle Lehto masterfully combined the traditional acts with modern charm. The short silent movies about the ringmaster’s journey made shows Lehto’s incredible comic skills in not only live performance but in all genres and medias. And just when they least expected it, one of the horses emerged from the screen, and the laughter reached new heights.

Chevalier is a must-see for families at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
