Images have been released of Catherine Tate in rehearsals for the Olivier Award-winning OH, MARY! ahead of her first performance at Trafalgar Theatre on Monday 27 April 2026.

The West End production is directed by Tony Award-winning Sam Pinkleton and written by Tony Award-winning Cole Escola.

Catherine Tate stars as Mary Todd Lincoln, alongside Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone and Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant.

The cast also includes Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher and Scott Karim as Mary’s Husband.

OH, MARY! is booking until Saturday 18 July 2026.

The dark comedy centres on a miserable and suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.

Unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires run through the 80-minute one-act play, which examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs Lincoln through what playwright Cole Escola describes as “the lens of an idiot”.

The production won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the 2026 Olivier Awards.

Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, the show also received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton.

Further accolades include Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle and finalist status for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The creative team includes scenic designer dots, costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See and sound design and music by Daniel Kluger with Drew Levy.

The team is completed by wig designer Leah J. Loukas, arrangements by David Dabbon and casting by Stuart Burt CDG.

The executive producers of OH, MARY! at Trafalgar Theatre are Wessex Grove.
