First look production images have been released for the new revival of High Society, now playing at the Barbican Theatre ahead of its official opening night on 3 June.

The lavish new production opened performances on 19 May for a strictly limited summer season, bringing Cole Porter’s classic musical back to London in style.

The show stars Helen George and Felicity Kendal, joined by Freddie Fox, Julian Ovenden, Carly Mercedes Dyer, Nigel Lindsay and Malcolm Sinclair in a star-studded cast.

From the producers of Anything Goes and Kiss Me Kate, this new staging promises romance, wit and glamour, set against a backdrop of champagne-fuelled high society chaos.

Freddie Fox, making his West End musical theatre debut, said: “I couldn’t be more excited to be making my musical theatre debut in HIGH SOCIETY at the Barbican Theatre. It’s the realisation of a boyhood dream for me, and I can’t wait to dive into this world, the music and the sheer joy of Cole Porter.”

Julian Ovenden added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to musical theatre; there’s nothing quite like the energy of a live audience and this show is pure delight from start to finish.”

Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Anthony Van Laast and musical supervision by Stephen Ridley, the production features a full orchestra bringing Porter’s timeless score to life.

The musical includes classic songs such as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, I Love Paris, Well Did You Evah?, Just One Of Those Things and True Love.

Set around a society wedding that spirals into romantic and comic chaos, High Society follows a glamorous cast of characters as old flames and new romances collide under the watchful eye of the press.

The production runs at the Barbican Theatre until 11 July before embarking on a major UK and Ireland tour.
