First look production images have been released for A Life in Four Seasons, the new contemporary dance work at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

The newly unveiled images offer a glimpse of the full ensemble of dancers bringing this reimagining of Vivaldi’s masterpiece to life.

Directed by Tinuke Craig, with choreography by Alexzandra Sarmiento and a recorded score by composer DJ Walde, the production runs from 11 to 14 June, with a press performance on 12 June.

The dance company includes Tanesha Aba, Kazmin Borrer, Robia Brown, Emi Ichikawa, Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, Jacqui Jameson, Susan Kempster, Louis Mackrodt, Christie Lee Manning, Michael Naylor, Laura Dawn Pyatt, Mark Smith, Nadia Sohawon, Beryl Tay, Mami Tomotani and Ethan Vijn.

The piece follows three friends navigating life’s journey through the changing seasons, set against an electrifying reinterpretation of Vivaldi’s iconic score.

Tinuke Craig said: “I’m so thrilled to be working on this new and exciting piece of dance with such an accomplished team of artists. It’s a real honour to work with this company who are bringing such a wealth of experience, such a breadth of styles and approaches and such a generosity of spirit to this project, which aims to examine who we are, what we can change and what we can’t, and how we can grow to love ourselves and each other over the course of a life”.

Alexzandra Sarmiento added: “The audiences of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre have delighted in experiencing storytelling through an incredible canon of plays, musicals, operas, and other fantastic forms of performance. I’m so pleased that dance is being added to that canon and I can’t wait to share with you what we are cooking up with our incredible company of dancers”.

Composer DJ Walde said: “It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the amazing Tinuke Craig. I’m looking forward to working alongside and creating with this amazing bunch of creatives and these wonderful dancers”.

Blending physical storytelling with an atmospheric new score, the production promises an immersive and visually striking addition to the theatre’s summer season.
