New rehearsal images have been released for Disney’s High School Musical, revealing Jason Donovan and the company hard at work ahead of the musical’s premiere at Lowry, Salford, later this month.
The newly unveiled photographs feature Donovan, who will play Coach Bolton during the Lowry run, alongside cast members as rehearsals gather pace for the highly anticipated production.
The images also showcase Disney icon KayCee Stroh, who famously played Martha Cox in the original film franchise and now returns to the world of High School Musical as Ms Darbus in the stage adaptation.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved Disney Channel Original Movie, the production marks the first UK non-replica staging of High School Musical.
Directed by Joseph Houston and William Whelton, the musical features a book by David Simpatico and music adapted, arranged and produced by Bryan Louiselle.
Audiences can look forward to hearing fan-favourite songs including Breaking Free, We’re All In This Together, Get’cha Head in the Game and Stick to the Status Quo performed live on stage.
The production opens at Lowry on 22 August 2026 before transferring to Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London from October.
