Full casting has been announced for Tilted Wig’s new production of The Picture of Dorian Gray, adapted and directed by Seán Aydon, which opens at Watford Palace Theatre on 1 October 2026 ahead of a UK tour.
Based on Oscar Wilde’s only novel, the production will visit venues across England and Wales throughout autumn 2026, beginning with performances in Watford and continuing to Shakespeare North Playhouse, Eastbourne Theatres, Theatre by the Lake, Theatr Clwyd and Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Guildford.
Jack Crumlin, known for playing Lonnie Byers in Stranger Things: The First Shadow in the West End, will take on the title role of Dorian Gray.
He is joined by Mark Oxtoby as Basil Hallward and Mark Hawkins as Lord Henry Wotton. The company also features Lydia Whitehead as Sybil Vane, Ayesha Griffiths as Catherine Vane, Lydea Perkins as Lady Victoria Wotton and Max Burnett as Romeo.
Set in a society obsessed with youth and beauty, the story follows Dorian Gray as he is offered eternal perfection, only to discover the devastating cost of achieving it.

This new adaptation promises to celebrate Wilde’s wit and dark imagination while exploring themes of vanity, corruption and unchecked desire.

Aydon’s recent touring productions include Spitfire Girls, The School for Scandal and Frankenstein. The creative team includes set and costume designer Sarah Beaton, lighting designer Peter Small, sound designer Russell Ditchfield and fight director and intimacy co-ordinator Kaitlin Howard.
