Pitlochry Festival Theatre has announced the full cast for its forthcoming production of the Grammy, Tony and Olivier award-winning musical Once.

The new production reunites the original creative team behind the Broadway and West End hit and will run from 23 May to 27 June at Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

As previously revealed, the production will star Dylan Wood and Lydia White in the central roles of Guy and Girl.

They are joined by Connor Going as Emcee and Eamonn, Allison Harding as Barushka, Laurie Jamieson as Bank Manager, Sean McLevy as Da, Loren O’Dair as Reza and Girlfriend, Loris Scarpa as Svec, Jos Slovick as Andrej and Charlie West as Billy.

Set in Dublin, Once follows Guy, a disillusioned street musician ready to walk away from his songs, and Girl, a spirited Czech immigrant who challenges him to believe in his talent.

Supported by an unconventional group of friends and fellow musicians, the pair set out to create an album together, discovering connection and hope along the way.

The musical is written by Enda Walsh, with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and is based on John Carney’s 2007 film featuring the Oscar-winning song Falling Slowly.

Premiering on Broadway in 2012, Once won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and went on to enjoy a West End run from 2013 to 2015, where it received two Olivier Awards.

This new production is directed by John Tiffany and forms part of Pitlochry Theatre’s 75th anniversary season, marking Alan Cumming’s first season as Artistic Director.
