Casting has been announced for the latest workshop performances of Mona Loser, a new musical with an original pop score by British writing duo Kit Buchan and Jim Barne, directed by Tony Award nominee Tim Jackson.
The workshops will run at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 2 to 5 September 2026, with tickets now on sale from £25.
The cast will feature Annabel Marlow, Ako Mitchell, Carla Dixon-Hernandez, Chad Saint Louis, Kayna Montecillo, Nic Myers, Obioma Ugoala and Steven Webb.
Produced by Tim Johanson Productions in association with Birmingham Hippodrome, Mona Loser is a contemporary musical set in the music industry that explores viral fame, identity and fakery, drawing inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and the modern monsters created both online and offline.
Buchan and Barne are best known for Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), which recently received eight Tony Award nominations on Broadway, making it one of the most celebrated British musicals of the season.
Following earlier workshops at Southwark Playhouse and Birmingham Hippodrome, these performances will provide audiences with another opportunity to experience the musical while it remains in development.
The musical follows washed-up music producer DOC, whose attempt to revive his career leads to the creation of a viral pop sensation known as Mona Loser.

Suddenly, the world wants to know: Who is Mona Loser?
