To celebrate Back to the Future Day, Gok Wan will make a one-night-only cameo appearance as ‘Principal Strickland’ in Back to the Future The Musical at London’s Adelphi Theatre on Monday 20 October.

Back to the Future Day is marked annually on 21 October by fans of the iconic franchise, commemorating the date Marty McFly travels to the future in Back to the Future II.

Gok Wan said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of Back to the Future the Musical for one night only to celebrate Back to the Future Day! Returning to the stage alongside my good friend Brian Conley is such a treat – he’s a true showman and I can’t wait to swap laughs, lines and a little bit of Hill Valley chaos with him. Great Scott, it’s going to be fabulous!”

Gok Wan is a multi-award-winning presenter, stylist, DJ, cook, and author. He rose to fame with Channel 4’s How to Look Good Naked and currently presents on ITV’s This Morning and co-hosts Magic FM Breakfast.

Back to the Future The Musical has won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, four WhatsOnStage Awards, and the Broadway World Award for Best New Musical. It has been seen by over 2 million people in the UK and is now in its fifth year at the Adelphi Theatre.

Oliver Halford will play Marty McFly at select performances, marking his West End debut. Cory English returns to the role of Doctor Emmett Brown on Thursday 6 November 2025.

The Original Cast Recording has surpassed 20 million streams and is available via Sony Music’s Masterworks Broadway label. A Deluxe Edition featuring 13 unreleased demos was released in 2023.

The musical features a book by Bob Gale and music by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, with classic hits like The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode. It is directed by John Rando with choreography by Chris Bailey and illusions by Chris Fisher.
