The first cast has been announced for the reimagined one-part production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which begins performances at London’s Palace Theatre on 9 October 2026.
The announcement comes as the original two-part production enters its final week following a record-breaking ten-year run. The sold-out production will play its final performance on 20 September before the new one-part version takes over the theatre next month.
Joining the reimagined production are Ethan Rouse as Albus Potter, Zoë Rainey as Ginny Potter, Hasia Akwaboah as Rose Granger-Weasley, Adam Jackson-Smith as Draco Malfoy and Bill Stanley as Scorpius Malfoy.
They join continuing cast members David Ricardo-Pearce as Harry Potter, Thomas Aldridge as Ron Weasley and Naana Agyei Ampadu as Hermione Granger.
The wider company includes Dewayne Jameson Adams, David Annen, Jacqueline Beaumont, Jensen Bedford, Angeline Bell, Tatum Confrey, Robert Curtis, Nick Dennington, Shakhai Estwick, Miah Hasselbaink, Tim Hibberd, Becky Hoyle, Max Hutchinson, Danny Ivy, Emma Louise Jones, Laura June Ness, Louise Ludgate, Shreya Lallu, Nathan Muwowo, Jocelyn Prah, Claire Redcliffe, Ewan Rutherford, Joshua Talbot, Nathaniel Tan, Callum Tempest, Alex Tomkins, Jake Tuesley and Aidan Garrett Wilkins.
Set 19 years after Harry, Ron and Hermione saved the wizarding world, the story follows a new generation of witches and wizards at Hogwarts while revisiting familiar characters from the original series.
Over the last decade, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been seen by more than 14 million people worldwide, including over 2.5 million in London. The production has won a record-breaking nine Laurence Olivier Awards for a play and has received 60 major honours globally, including six Tony Awards.
There are currently productions running in London, New York, Tokyo, the Netherlands and on a North American tour, with previous productions having played in Hamburg, Melbourne, San Francisco and Toronto.
Based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, the play is written by Thorne and directed by Tiffany. The creative team also includes Steven Hoggett, Christine Jones, Katrina Lindsay, Imogen Heap, Neil Austin, Gareth Fry, Jamie Harrison, Martin Lowe, Julia Horan CDG and Lotte Hines CDG.
The reimagined production will be presented in one complete performance, with tickets available from £25. The new performance schedule runs from Tuesday to Sunday, with matinee and evening performances across the week.
