Olivia Hewitt Jones

Olivia Hewitt Jones stars in Wiltshire Creative’s pantomime, Dick Whittington which will play at Salisbury Playhouse.

Artistic Director of Wiltshire Creative Gareth Machin directs Will Carey (Dick Whittington), Olivia Hewitt Jones (Alice Fitzwarren), Will Jennings (Percy Rat), Hugh Osbourne (Alderman Fitzwarren), David Rumelle (Sarah the Cook), Lindo Shinda (Cosmo), Natalie Winsor (Fairy Bowbells), Alisha Capon and Daniel Timoney.

This production will mark the 13th time Dick Whittington has been staged at Salisbury Playhouse and will run from 25 November 2023 – 7 January 2024. This production features writing by trio Plested, Brown & Wilsher returning to Salisbury for a second year.

You’re starring in Dick Whittington, what can you tell us about this year’s pantomime from Wiltshire Creative?

It’s going to be an epic treat for the whole family! We have everything in this panto from sharks to space travel!! The story has so much heart and warmth, it’s going to be something very special.

This will be your stage debut, how does it feel to be making it in a well-loved panto?

I’m absolutely thrilled! I grew up loving panto and to get to make my debut in such a fantastic venue feels so special.

You’re playing Alice, what do you love about the character?

I love her tenacity and drive! She fights threw all the challenges to chase her dreams and meets her wonderful new friends Dick and Cosmo along the way.

And what do you think will be the most challenging aspect of this panto?

Panto is so high energy and moves at a fast pace so it’s a challenge to make sure you’re on it and never let the energy drop onstage. Luckily we have a fantastic script and great songs to help us out.

What’s it been like working with director, Gareth Machin?

Gareth has been wonderful! He creates such a safe and inviting room to work in where everyone feels seen and heard. We’ve been having a blast in rehearsals!

What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see Dick Whittington?

Book your tickets quickly to avoid disappointment!!
