Persuasion

Theatre6 and Catherine Schreiber have announced the return of Jane Austen’s Persuasion on a UK Tour, which opens at Theatre Royal Winchester on 10 September 2018.

Persuasion was Jane Austen’s final novel, and Theatre6’s production is a world premiere featuring original music by Maria Haïk Escudero to be played live by a company of actor-musicians.

Anne Elliot was young and in love. Swept off her feet by the dashing but poor naval officer, Captain Wentworth, she devastatingly rejects his marriage proposal because of her selfish society-obsessed family.  Several years later and Wentworth has returned from sea.  Will a chance encounter lead Anne back to her true love, or to a life forever alone?

Cast includes Ceri-Lyn Cissone who plays Persuasion’s heroine and protagonist, Anne. Ceri-Lyn received high praise for her performance in ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, transferring with the show to New York. Recently she played the hilarious and transformative female lead, Janet, in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ across Europe.

The cast also includes, Matthew Atkins, Siobhán Gerrard, Indigo Griffiths, Jason Ryall and Lucinda Turner.
