Josh Radnor and Noah Galvin are set to make their London stage debuts in the world premiere of Hit Machine at Soho Theatre.
Written by Jonathan Caren and directed by Daniel Bailey, the new play runs from Wednesday 8 July to Saturday 15 August, with press night on Tuesday 21 July.
Hit Machine is described as a darkly comic sibling drama centred on two estranged brothers, one a powerful record executive and the other an aspiring musician, whose reunion sparks a volatile confrontation over family, creativity and truth.
The production features original music by three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Ben Harper and explores themes of brotherhood, male violence and the cost of transforming pain into art.
Josh Radnor, best known for playing Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother, has previously starred on Broadway and Off-Broadway and is also an accomplished filmmaker and musician.
Noah Galvin rose to prominence as Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway and recently co-wrote and starred in the film Theatre Camp.
Jonathan Caren said: “I’m interested in the way pop music can be manufactured and yet still hit something raw in us. While the play is about songwriting, it is also about the ways men handle shame, or even build entire identities around it.”
The production is presented by Spiral Stairs Entertainment in association with Soho Theatre, BPM Theatrical and Kater Gordon, with further cast and creatives to be announced.
