Landmark Productions’ The Approach To Make Its Debut On The Virtual Stage Via Ticketco Media Services’ Live Streaming Platform

The Approach

Landmark Productions, one of Ireland’s leading theatre producers, is set to live stream its acclaimed production of The Approach, written and directed by Mark O’Rowe, via TicketCo Media Services this week.

Following previous sell-out performances in Edinburgh and Dublin, this remarkable play will be performed on stage from Dublin’s Project Arts Centre and live streamed on January 21, 23 and 24.

Producing wide-ranging work in Ireland and sharing it with international audiences, multi award winning Landmark Productions has delivered productions in leading theatres in London, New York and beyond.

The impact of COVID-19 means audiences cannot gather as normal, but Landmark Productions is determined to produce great work and recently launched Landmark Live. The company’s first live stream in partnership with TicketCo Media Services will bring together three of the finest performers of their generation – Cathy Belton, Derbhle Crotty and Aisling O’Sullivan.

The Approach is a play about being human, an exploration of betrayal, and an appeal to listen before it is too late.

Hugh Farrell, Associate Producer for live streaming at Landmark Productions said adapting to live streaming has been vital to generating revenue and supporting artists during the pandemic.

He said: “We have spent a lot of time researching the whole area of live streaming and working out the best way to bring exciting new work safely to audiences, despite the continuing pandemic. We have had great support from the Arts Council, Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Culture Ireland and our producing partners Project Arts Centre and St Ann’s Warehouse.

“We chose to work with TicketCo Media Services because of its fully integrated system combining live streaming and a secure paywall via instant digital ticketing. They have delivered an efficient platform for us to broadcast and promote our show in quick time which we are thrilled about.”

David Kenny, Global Partnerships Director at TicketCo Media Services, said: “To expand our online broadcasting and digital ticketing service into Ireland is a fantastic development and we are proud to help Landmark Productions launch The Approach onto the digital stage.

“Our cost-effective and easy to use system provides theatre producers like Landmark Productions with the ideal platform for companies to engage with their audiences during this difficult time.”

Landmark Productions was founded in 2002 by Anne Clarke. The company’s 18 world premieres and work with major Irish writers such as Enda Walsh and Mark O’Rowe has seen it receive multiple awards including the Judges’ Special Award in recognition of sustained excellence in programming at the Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards.

TicketCo Media Services is a cloud-based platform that provides pay-per-view streaming and on-demand services combined with a digital ticketing solution.  To book tickets for Landmark Productions’ upcoming show The Approach, visit: The Approach – Live Broadcast | Landmark Productions.
