Les Dennis is to join the cast of the smash hit West End show Only Fools and Horses The Musical from 3 October, starring as the loveable Grandad.

The critically acclaimed musical is also extending its run at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket for a further three months until 7 January.

Based on John Sullivan’s iconic and record-breaking television show – and featuring cherished material from the TV series – this home-grown West End musical spectacular is written by John’s son, Jim Sullivan, and comedy powerhouse Paul Whitehouse. The musical reacquaints fans with Britain’s most loveable rogues, to experience the classic comedy brought to life through 20 ingenious and hilarious songs.

Les Dennis said: “I am so excited to be playing Grandad in ‘Only Fools and Horses The Musical’. Like everyone else, I would tune in weekly to watch the hilarious exploits of the Trotters and would laugh and cry in equal measure. It was both funny and touching. Jim Sullivan and Paul Whitehouse have written a wonderful show that beautifully recreates that feel-good era of British comedy. I can’t wait to join the hugely talented cast and be a part of it. Lovely jubbly!”

Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, the show has been seen by over 600,000 people since it opened in the West End to an array of fantastic reviews from critics and fans alike in February 2019.
