Further tickets have been released for Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Misérables, with the West End phenomenon extending its booking period at the Sondheim Theatre until 2 October 2027.
The announcement takes the musical through its record-breaking 42nd year in London, with audiences now able to secure seats for performances throughout the extended booking period.
Originally opening in the West End in 1985, Les Misérables celebrated its 40th anniversary last year and remains one of the most successful musicals ever staged.
The production has been seen by more than 150 million people across 57 countries and has been translated into 22 languages, winning more than 275 major awards worldwide.
The current cast stars Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean, Oliver Savile as Javert, Stefanie Jones as Fantine, Harry Hepple as Thénardier, Mina Anwar as Madame Thénardier, Jess Folley as Éponine, Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras and Lucia McLaughlin as Cosette.
The musical continues to enjoy international success beyond London. Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular recently completed its world tour after selling more than 1.3 million tickets across 35 cities, while the Spanish-language production Los Miserables continues its acclaimed run in Madrid.
Earlier this year, First Night Records released Les Misérables: The 40th Anniversary All-Star Cast, described as the complete recording of Cameron Mackintosh’s production and available across streaming, digital and CD formats.
Based on Victor Hugo’s landmark novel, Les Misérables features a book by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, music by Schönberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.
The current production is directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, with design by Matt Kinley inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. The creative team also includes costume designers Andreane Neofitou, Christine Rowland and Paul Wills, lighting designer Paule Constable, sound designer Mick Potter and projection designers Finn Ross and 59 Studio.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s most beloved musicals, Les Misérables continues to attract audiences from across the globe more than four decades after its original premiere.
