Lucie Jones will return to the role of Jenna Rink for the North American premiere of 13 Going on 30: The Musical, it has been announced.
The WhatsOnStage Award-winning musical will play a strictly limited Christmas season at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre from December 2026 as part of the 2026/27 Mirvish season.
Jones originated the role in the musical’s world premiere production at Manchester Opera House in 2025, where the show played to sold-out audiences.
Her extensive stage credits include Les Misérables, Wicked, Waitress, Legally Blonde and Rent. Beyond theatre, she has appeared on television in Midsomer Murders, The Sarah Jane Adventures, and represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.
Joining Jones in the cast will be Dom Simpson as Matt Flamhaff, Grace Mouat as Lucy Wyman, Caleb Roberts as Richard, Andrew Berlin as Kyle Grandy, Morgan Scott as Wayne, Katharine Pearson as Bev and Iván Fernández González as Darius Mark.
The production’s ensemble cast includes Takaiyah Bailey, Jordan Calloway, Peter Camilleri, Amara Campbell, Henry Lawes, Sunny Lee, Kerri Norville, Rose Mary O’Reilly, Sam Jeffrey Parkes, Kelly Sweeney, Alex Tranter, Zaya Tserenbat, Aidan Watson and Amy Webb.
A Young Company will also feature Harper Rae Asch, John Beer-Principe, Cash Bickell, Jack Bischoff, Emma Chun, Devyn Cooper, Glee Dango, Addison Everett Stephenson, Athan Giazitzidis, Shazdeh Kapadia, Nendia Lewars, Eytan Marcus-Wolpert, Victoria Martins, Markeda McKay, Maya Misaljevic, Ashayla Nation-Williams, Sofia Otta, Sienna Rader, Scarlett Sze-Wan Lau, Natalie Waters, Zoë Wheatley and Oliver Woon.
Based on the 2004 film starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, the musical follows awkward teenager Jenna Rink, who wishes away her difficult school years and wakes up as a successful thirty-year-old magazine editor.
As she begins to uncover the reality of the life she has built, Jenna embarks on a journey to discover what truly matters and who she wants to be.
The musical features a book by original film writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, with music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner. It is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography by Jennifer Weber.
Jennifer Garner serves as executive producer on the stage adaptation.
