A full cast has been confirmed for Macbeth, which will take to the Storyhouse stage from Friday 6 March to Saturday 21 March 2026.

The Storyhouse Originals production will be led by Robin Morrissey as Macbeth, with Yolanda Ovide as Lady Macbeth.

They are joined by Mika Onyx Johnson as Macduff, Roly Botha as Lady Macduff, and Nishad More as Banquo.
The ensemble also includes Tasha Dowd, Francesca Hughes, Pete MacHale, Mark Mackinnon, Ioan O’Neill, Kameron Skeene and Jacob Conor.
The three witches will be played by Roly Botha, Motheo Maloma and Evie Woodward.

Several young actors from the Storyhouse Youth Theatre will also feature, with all other roles played by members of the company.

This new adaptation is written and directed by Jamie Sophia Fletcher, bringing Shakespeare’s original text to life with atmosphere, pace and dramatic tension.

The creative team includes Andrew Exeter as set and lighting designer, Sarah Victoria as sound designer, projection from Daniel Denton, costumes by April Dalton, movement direction from Michaela Meazza, and fight and intimacy direction by Kaitlin Howard.
Creative audio description is provided by Dan Parr of Hear The Picture.

This season marks the return of Shakespeare to Storyhouse and the first in a series of classic adaptations planned for 2026.
It will also restore the venue’s thrust staging, designed to heighten intensity and bring audiences closer to the action.

A full programme of educational workshops will run alongside the production, involving actors and creatives on stage.

Storyhouse creative director Suzie Henderson said: “I’m delighted we’ve assembled such a strong company of brilliant actors to bring Shakespeare’s great tragedy to life in gripping fashion on our thrust stage this March. Robin Morrissey is an actor who has a fantastic range and presence, and Yolande Ovide, who plays Lady Macbeth, impressed us all with her depth and versatility when she appeared in two very different roles at Grosvenor Park in 2024.

“I’m also very pleased that as part of our commitment to nurturing new talent we have five young trainee actors among the cast, several of whom have come through the Storyhouse Young Company, as well as youngsters from our own Youth Theatre.

“This is the first Storyhouse Originals production for 2026, and our audiences are guaranteed a thrilling and visceral experience, one that only live theatre can really deliver.”
