Fresh off the West End opening of The Producers at the Garrick Theatre, the Menier Chocolate Factory has unveiled its new season for 2025/2026.

The season begins with a major revival of Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels, directed by Christopher Luscombe, who returns to the Menier following his work on Travels with My Aunt.

Next, Lindsay Posner directs two productions: Ryan Craig’s The Holy Rosenbergs and Peter Shaffer’s Equus. Posner previously helmed Communicating Doors, Abigail’s Party, and The Truth at the venue, with the latter two transferring to the West End.

Equus will be presented in a co-production with Theatre Royal Bath, where it will transfer following its Menier run.

The Menier also continues its international work with an Off-Broadway production of Stephen Schwartz’s The Baker’s Wife, directed by Gordon Greenberg for Classic Stage Company. The cast includes Ariana DeBose, Scott Bakula and Judy Kuhn.

Artistic Director David Babani said, “It’s been quite a week for the Menier with our production of The Producers opening in the West End, and now announcing a season of British classics for our home in Southwark. These three wonderful plays – Fallen Angels, The Holy Rosenbergs and Equus – tackle the very contemporary and compelling themes of the power of female friendship; faith and tradition in the core of the Jewish community, and the exploration of the human psyche.”

Fallen Angels

By Noël Coward
Directed by Christopher Luscombe
21 November 2025 – 21 February 2026
Press night: 2 December

First performed 100 years ago, Fallen Angels is one of Coward’s funniest comedies. Best friends Jane and Julia, now in comfortable marriages, are thrown into chaos when a glamorous ex-boyfriend reappears.

This marks the first London revival of the play in 25 years.

The Holy Rosenbergs

By Ryan Craig
Directed by Lindsay Posner
27 February – 2 May
Press night: 9 March

Set in Edgware, The Holy Rosenbergs follows a Jewish family in crisis. As father David struggles with a failing business and daughter Ruth faces backlash for investigating war crimes in Gaza, tragedy deepens their turmoil.

Originally premiered at the National Theatre in 2011, the play is now more timely than ever.

Equus

By Peter Shaffer
Directed by Lindsay Posner
Menier Chocolate Factory: 8 May – 27 June
Press night: 18 May
Theatre Royal Bath: 13 – 25 July

In Equus, psychiatrist Martin Dysart investigates why a teenage boy blinded six horses, leading to a gripping exploration of the human psyche.

This modern masterpiece will transfer to Theatre Royal Bath following its Menier run.
