Moulin Rouge! The Musical will celebrate five spectacular years in London’s West End this November, with producers announcing that the hit production has extended booking at the Piccadilly Theatre through to July 2027.
The announcement comes as the acclaimed stage adaptation of Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film continues to captivate audiences in the West End, having welcomed more than 14 million people across 16 productions worldwide.
To mark the milestone, brand-new production photography has been released featuring the current West End company, led by Karis Anderson as Satine and Alistair Brammer as Christian.
They are joined by James Doherty as Harold Zidler, Daniel Fraser as The Duke, Richard Lloyd King as Toulouse-Lautrec, Ivan De Freitas as Santiago, Lindsey Tierney as Nini, Nick Len as Baby Doll, Billie-Kay as Arabia, Athena Collins as La Chocolat and Angela Marie Hurst as Alternate Satine.
Set in Paris in 1899, Moulin Rouge! The Musical follows the story of Christian, a young American writer who falls in love with the dazzling nightclub star Satine. Their romance is threatened by powerful forces determined to keep them apart, leading Christian and his bohemian friends to create a spectacular theatrical production in a bid to save the Moulin Rouge and win Satine’s heart.
The stage musical brings Baz Luhrmann’s celebrated film to life through a dazzling theatrical experience, combining romance, contemporary music and extraordinary visual spectacle.
Directed by Tony Award-winning director Alex Timbers, the production features a book by John Logan, choreography by Sonya Tayeh and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine.
Since its world premiere, Moulin Rouge! The Musical has become a global phenomenon, with productions staged across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, alongside its ongoing West End run and international touring productions.
