The Black British Theatre Awards will return in 2026, celebrating the achievements of Black artists, creatives and theatre professionals across the UK.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday 25 October 2026 at the Piccadilly Theatre in London’s West End.

Sponsored by ATG Entertainment and presented in partnership with Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Global Creatures, the awards continue to grow as a key platform for recognising excellence on and off stage.

Building on the success of last year’s event, which featured performances from Alexandra Burke and The Kingdom Choir, the 2026 ceremony will once again spotlight the individuals and productions shaping British theatre.

Award categories will include performance, creative excellence, emerging talent, Outstanding Contribution, Best Musical and Best Play.

Founder and Executive Director Omar F. Okai said, “We are delighted to return for another year of celebrating the extraordinary talent, creativity and impact. The Black British Theatre Awards exist not only to recognise excellence but also to champion visibility, representation and opportunity within our industry. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors ATG Entertainment, partners Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Global Creatures and Playful Productions, supporters and audiences who continue to believe in the importance of this work.”

Nominations for the 2026 awards will open on 1 July and close on 31 August, inviting audiences and industry professionals to put forward individuals and productions that have made a significant impact over the past year.

Further announcements, including details of nominees, presenters and performances, will be revealed in the coming months.
