English National Opera has announced the internationally acclaimed cast and conductor for Mozart’s Women: A Musical Journey, a one-night-only concert taking place on Friday 12 September 2025 at the London Coliseum.

The concert will be filmed by Factory Films for broadcast on Sky Arts later this year.

Hosted by TV and radio presenter Lauren Laverne (Desert Island Discs, The One Show), Mozart’s Women: A Musical Journey explores the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through the lens of the women who inspired his most iconic music.

The concert is directed by ENO’s Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon and conducted by Clelia Cafiero, Principal Guest Conductor at the Opéra de Tours. Cafiero returns to ENO following her acclaimed UK debut with La bohème in 2024.

Lauren Laverne said: “My first time on the Coli stage and I’m thrilled that it’s a one-off evening of extraordinary Mozart music – and all focused on the inspiring women in his life!”

Annilese Miskimmon added: “We are thrilled to be announcing the internationally esteemed talent both on stage and on the podium for this special concert. I look forward to working with the Mozart’s Women team to take audiences on a musical journey through some of the composer’s iconic characters and melodies. All of us at ENO are delighted to welcome Lauren Laverne to the Coliseum stage as our host for the night and are delighted that this concert is being broadcast by Sky Arts meaning even more people can experience the magic of Mozart with English National Opera.”

The cast features six internationally renowned opera stars performing Mozart’s most beloved arias.

South African soprano Golda Schultz makes her ENO debut. Known for her versatility, Schultz is celebrated for both operatic roles and concert performances with leading orchestras worldwide.

American soprano Rainelle Krause returns to ENO after her standout performance as The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute in 2024, a role she has made her signature internationally.

Irish soprano Ailish Tynan, a multi-award-winning artist, also returns to ENO following her critically acclaimed performance as The Governess in The Turn of the Screw in 2024.

British soprano and former Harewood Artist Nardus Williams joins the cast after her acclaimed portrayal of Countess Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro earlier this year.

British mezzo-soprano Bethany Horak-Hallett makes her ENO debut. She has recently performed Mozart roles including Cherubino and Dorabella at Garsington Opera.

New Zealand-Tongan tenor Filipe Manu also makes his ENO debut. A graduate of the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Manu is a rising star in the opera world.

Audiences can expect to hear arias from Così fan tutte, The Magic Flute, and Don Giovanni, including “Ah guarda sorella,” “Der Hölle Rache,” and “Mi tradi.”

The concert is part of Sky Arts’ upcoming Mozart season, which also includes the Sky Original limited series Amadeus, starring Will Sharpe, Paul Bettany, and Gabrielle Creevy.
