A specially filmed version of Murder at Midnight, the brand-new stage thriller by acclaimed writer Torben Betts, will be released exclusively on Original Online, Original Theatre’s digital streaming platform, from midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Currently touring the UK, Murder at Midnight stars Jason Durr (Heartbeat, Casualty), Susie Blake (Victoria Wood as Seen on TV, Coronation Street), Max Bowden (Birdsong, EastEnders) and Katie McGlynn (Coronation Street, Hollyoaks). The filmed version will be available to stream for the whole of January for Original Online Members, both new and existing.

Directed by Philip Franks (Murder in the Dark, The Mousetrap), the production also features Callum Balmforth, Peter Moreton, Iryna Poplavska, Bella Farr and Andy McLeod. Blending razor-sharp wit with chilling suspense, the play proves that even the best-laid plans can unravel spectacularly when the wrong people are in the wrong place at exactly the wrong time.

Set on New Year’s Eve in rural Kent, Jonny “The Cyclops” throws a party that spirals into chaos. Amidst music, fireworks and tarot cards foretelling doom, a killer lurks in the house. Everyone’s hiding something – but who’s telling the truth?

Produced by Original Theatre in association with Joshua Beaumont and Huw Allen, Murder at Midnight is a gripping murder mystery filled with twists, suspense and wickedly dark humour. The filmed version was captured by Tristan McShepherd and includes closed captions for accessibility.
