Brand new artwork has been released today for the UK premiere of Clarkston, written by Samuel D. Hunter and directed by Jack Serio.
The production will star Joe Locke (Heartstopper, Agatha All Along) in his West End debut, alongside Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, The Franchise) and Sophie Melville (The Way, Iphigenia in Splott).
Clarkston will run for a strictly limited 9-week engagement at Trafalgar Theatre from 17 September to 22 November 2025, with press night scheduled for 25 September.
Priority booking is now open at www.ClarkstonPlay.co.uk, with general on-sale beginning Tuesday 22 July at 10am.
Written by Samuel D. Hunter, the Oscar-winning and BAFTA-nominated writer of The Whale, Clarkston is a modern frontier story exploring friendship, acceptance, love, and the hope of new discoveries.
“You have this idea in your head of the person you could be.”
Joe Locke said: “I’m thrilled to be making my West End debut in Clarkston. Samuel D. Hunter’s writing is so deeply human and honest that I immediately connected with the play when I read it. I can’t wait to bring this beautiful story to life and share it with audiences in London.”
The creative team includes set and costume designer Milla Clarke, lighting designer Stacey Derosier, sound designer George Dennis, casting director Stuart Burt, and dramaturg John Baker. Wessex Grove serves as executive producer and general management.
Set in a rural American town, Clarkston follows Jake on a journey West to rediscover himself, where he meets Chris, a kindred soul working the night shift at Costco. Their bond deepens as they chase something more—like the explorers Lewis and Clark before them.
