The West End chiller Paranormal Activity will return to the Ambassadors Theatre this summer, as Melting Pot confirms a third extension for the production.
Following a short hiatus, the show resumes performances on Saturday 8 August 2026, with the new booking period running until Saturday 3 October. The current season continues until Saturday 25 April 2026. Performances from August will take place Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with Friday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
Based on the global hit film franchise created by Oren Peli, Paranormal Activity has earned a reputation as a relentlessly frightening theatrical event, leaving audiences “arm‑clutchingly, stranger-embracingly” terrified long after the curtain falls. The production blurs the line between cinema and live theatre, delivering a visceral West End experience.
Full casting for the new season will be announced soon.
The show has been praised for its inventive approach to horror, with a North American tour currently underway. Recent dates have included the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, with its final stop at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco beginning later this month.
Telling a new story inspired by the worldwide phenomenon, Paranormal Activity follows James and Lou as they move from Chicago to London, only to discover that “places aren’t haunted, people are”.
The stage adaptation is written by Levi Holloway, whose Broadway shocker Grey House gripped audiences, and directed by Punchdrunk founder Felix Barrett, known for his groundbreaking immersive work. Together, they reimagine the ghost story with unsettling intimacy, psychological tension and inventive stagecraft.
The creative team includes Fly Davis as Set and Costume Designer, Illusions by Chris Fisher, Lighting Design by Anna Watson, Sound Design by Gareth Fry, Video Design by Luke Halls and Casting Direction by Stuart Burt CDG and Ginny Schiller CDG.
“Will I be scared? Yes. How scared? Very. Cleverly, too.” said the Chicago Tribune.
The original Paranormal Activity film, released by Paramount Pictures in 2009, became a landmark in found-footage horror and grossed nearly 200 million dollars worldwide. Its legacy now moves from screen to stage as audiences are invited to experience the fear in real time.
Paranormal Activity is produced by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska for Melting Pot, in association with Gavin Kalin, Ken Davenport, Jenny King, Patrick Gracey, Jonathan and Rae Corr and Leeds Playhouse.
