Peter Hinwood, who played Rocky in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, will make a rare West End public appearance for one night only as part of The Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary Spectacular Tour.

Hinwood will join original cast members Barry Bostwick, Nell Campbell and Patricia Quinn on stage at the Dominion Theatre on Sunday 19 April at 7.30pm.

The anniversary tour celebrates 50 years of the cult film and will visit 13 cities across the UK, with the four original cast members appearing together for the first time.

At each performance, audiences will have the opportunity to meet the stars, take part in a costume contest and enjoy a live Shadow Cast performing scenes alongside a 4K remastered screening of the unedited film.

The London date is the only performance on the tour to feature Peter Hinwood, who starred as Frank-N-Furter’s creation, Rocky.

Nell Campbell said this week: “Peter was like a Greek god. No one in Europe had a body like him at that time.”

Hinwood was a professional model when he was cast in 1975 and had little acting experience, with his vocals dubbed in post-production, but the role proved to be the most significant of his career.

He later appeared in Sebastiane before retiring from acting to pursue a career as an antiques dealer.

Reflecting on his screen work, he told People Magazine in 2000: “I cringe with embarrassment every time I see myself on film and I relish a quiet, peaceful life.”

Producer Scott Stander said: “I am thrilled that Peter Hinwood has agreed to come out of self imposed retirement to join the Rocky company for one unforgettable reunion night only in London. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime night to remember for any Rocky Horror fan.”

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the longest-running theatrical release in the world, starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Meatloaf, Nell Campbell, Patricia Quinn, Richard O’Brien and Peter Hinwood.

Limited VIP tickets are available for the London performance and include a meet and greet with Hinwood, Bostwick, Campbell and Quinn, along with a VIP laminate, autograph and photo opportunity.
