Following two critically acclaimed runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, the anarchic musical comedy Potty the Plant is set to make its much-anticipated London debut at Wilton’s Music Hall from Tuesday 24th to Saturday 28th June 2025.

This genre-blending spectacle promises a whirlwind of chaotic charm, irreverent humour, and toe-tapping tunes, all wrapped up in a surreal children’s TV show gone rogue.

Set in the bizarre world of Little Boo Boo’s General Hospital, Potty the Plant follows a dysfunctional team of nurses as they grapple with a string of mysterious disappearances. At the heart of the madness is Potty — a singing, talking, tap-dancing potted plant brought to life through a lovingly hand-crafted puppet.

The show draws inspiration from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tenacious D, and the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber, delivering a madcap mix of comedy, music, and mutant houseplants.

Directed by Baden Burns, who also stars as Potty and serves as co-writer and musical composer, the production features a fearless cast including Lucy Appleton as Miss Lacey, Ash K-B as Dr. Acula, Stephanie Cubello as Nurse Mel, Joe Winter as Nurse Dave, and Sam Ridley as Nurse Stephen.

Burns shared, “The world of Potty The Plant is a madcap fever dream, where nothing is off limits. It is the perfect setting for my sarcastic, demented humour to thrive. This show’s music is the perfect blend of my most influential musical inspirations, from growing up watching old musicals with my grandmother like Anything Goes and Guys and Dolls, to my love of rock music, especially comedic bands such as Tenacious D. This production has been a labour of love for many years. I feel incredibly blessed to have been able to work on this show so closely with my good friend Aeddan and my wife Sarah. Without both of them, this show would not be where it is today. It’s my hope that audiences will fall in love with Potty and allow this daft muppety character to make himself as at home in their hearts as he is in mine.”

The creative team also includes Musical Director Zach Burns, Producer Sarah Oakland, Co-writer and Assistant Director Aeddan Sussex, and Assistant Producer Stephanie Cubello.

Potty the Plant runs for 60 minutes and is recommended for audiences aged 18 and over.
