Production images have been released for the world premiere of Redcliffe, a new musical by Jordan Luke Gage, running at Southwark Playhouse Borough.

The production will play a strictly limited season from 22 May to 4 July 2026.

Jordan Luke Gage will lead the cast as William, reprising the role following eight sold out workshop performances at The Other Palace in 2024.

He is joined by Rebecca Lock, Daniel Krikler, Jess Douglas Welsh, Adrian Hansel, Melissa Jacques, Jade Johnson, Phoebe Kyriakopoulos, Joseph Peacock and Steven Serlin.

Set in 18th century England, Redcliffe is based on the true story of William Critchard and Richard Arnold in Bristol, exploring an epic tale of forbidden love during a time of persecution.

The story follows William, a man from humble beginnings, whose life changes when he meets sailor Richard, forcing them both to question everything they know about themselves and the world around them.

The musical features book, music and lyrics by Jordan Luke Gage, and is directed by Paul Foster.

The creative team also includes choreography by Emma Woods, set design by Andrew Exeter, costume design by Martin Hanly, lighting design by Matt Hockley and sound design by Alistair Penman.

Musical supervision is by Katy Richardson, with orchestrations by Ben Tomalin and Ben Ferguson.

Redcliffe has been developed with the support of MTFestUK, The Other Palace and Bill Kenwright Limited.
