Promoter Raymond Gubbay will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first concert he ever promoted with a special one-off performance at Wigmore Hall on Wednesday 21 October 2026.
The concert also forms part of Gubbay’s 80th birthday year and will see the internationally renowned Choir of King’s College, Cambridge take to the stage under the direction of Daniel Hyde.
The programme, titled ‘O how glorious is the kingdom’, will reflect the feast of All Saints while looking ahead to the anticipation of Advent.
Audiences can expect a programme featuring Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Missa O quam gloriosum, alongside Aaron Copland’s 4 Motets and Poulenc’s Quatre petites prières de Saint François d’Assise.
Gubbay has enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, making their appearance particularly fitting for this milestone celebration.
The concert will also raise funds for Wigmore Hall’s Director’s Fund, which was launched in 2023 to support the venue’s long term artistic independence and development.
Founded in the 15th century, the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge remains one of the most recognised choral ensembles in the world, known for its annual broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.
Director Daniel Hyde, who has led the choir since 2019, continues to oversee its extensive programme of performances both in the UK and internationally.
