New rehearsal images have been released for A Mirrored Monet, ahead of its London premiere at Charing Cross Theatre next month.

The dramatic new musical, written by composer, lyricist and dramatist Carmel Owen and directed by Christian Durham, begins previews on 14 March and runs until 9 May 2026, with press night on 24 March.

Set in Paris in 1916, the musical follows Claude Monet as he struggles to complete the commission that will define his legacy. With the First World War closing in and essential supplies dwindling, Monet retreats into his memories of early artistic life with contemporaries Renoir and Manet, as well as his muse Camille Doncieux.

Inspired by the letters and diaries of Monet and his peers, A Mirrored Monet transports audiences into the cafés, studios and salons of Belle Époque Paris. The piece also features music and projections that bring the era vividly to life. An earlier version of the musical was seen at Greenside’s Emerald Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2023.

Jeff Shankley stars as Monet in 1916, with Dean John-Wilson playing the young painter. The cast also includes John Addison, Brooke Bazarian, Natalie Day, Ritesh Manugula, Sam Peggs, Aaron Pryce-Lewis and Steven Serlin. Covers include Nick Bligh, Samuel Haughton and Meg Matthews.
