The celebrated cult musical Ride the Cyclone will receive its long-awaited UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse Elephant this autumn.
The production will begin previews on Friday 14 November 2025, with an official opening night set for Wednesday 19 November. The limited run will continue until Saturday 10 January 2026.
Directed and choreographed by Lizzi Gee, Ride the Cyclone is written by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. Further casting and creative team details are yet to be announced.
Darkly funny, wildly imaginative, and surprisingly heartfelt, Ride the Cyclone follows six teenagers who perish in a freak rollercoaster accident and find themselves in limbo. There, they are given one final chance to plead their case for a return to life.
Each teen steps into the spotlight to share their story, revealing big dreams, dark secrets, and the universal search for meaning.
The musical first premiered at Atomic Vaudeville in British Columbia in 2008, before making its American debut at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in 2015. It later opened Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in 2016 and has since played in cities including Seattle, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Sydney, and Buenos Aires.
Ride the Cyclone is produced by Kevin McCollum, Morris Berchard and Jack Maple, and is licensed by Broadway Licensing.
