Casson & Friends will tour their latest production, Shed Stories, across England from 11 October to 8 November 2025, with a press night at London Bubble on 22 October.

Blending theatre, movement and documentary, Shed Stories celebrates the growing phenomenon of Men’s Sheds — community spaces where men come together to make, repair and repurpose.

Choreographed by Tim Casson and devised with Matthew Winston and Deepraj Singh, the production draws on over 24 hours of interviews with “shedders” from across the UK.

The show highlights how these spaces support mental health, tackle loneliness, and foster camaraderie, especially among older men.

Set elements have been crafted by Tim Casson’s father, Alan Casson, in his own Men’s Shed, adding a personal touch to the production.

Audiences will be seated around the performance space, creating an intimate and immersive experience.

Tim Casson said, “From the moment I heard about ‘Men’s Sheds’, I was excited by this growing phenomenon in the UK. The more I learnt about them, and through my interviews with ’shedders’ themselves from across the country, I started to see the amazing impact they had – not just on the people that attend, but the communities around them! We created Shed Stories to not only reflect these amazing spaces, but also to ask bigger questions around mental health, aging, communities, the joy of making and creating, what it means to be a man, and what’s the best biscuit?! The show is heartwarming, joyful, and packed full of timely themes presented through the unique and characterful lens of ‘Men’s Sheds’ – so there’s really something for everyone… and of course, dance!”

Casson & Friends was founded in 2012 and is known for creating joyful, interactive, and accessible dance projects in unconventional spaces.

  • Shed Stories* continues the company’s tradition of people-powered performance, following previous works such as The Allotment Project and Preppers.
