The producers of the multi award-winning West End production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club have announced a major new cast line-up, led by Skylar Astin and Sarah Hyland in their West End debuts.

From 21 September 2026, Astin, best known for Pitch Perfect and So Help Me Todd, will take on the role of Emcee, while Modern Family star Sarah Hyland will play Sally Bowles.

Joining the company will be Ronan Burns as Ernst Ludwig and Lindsay Atherton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie. Also joining the cast are Lily Frances, Peter Houston, Samuel How, Bailey Johnson, Ellie Mitchell, Kirsty Anne Shaw, Natasha Wilde and Nicky Wong Rush.

Continuing in the production are Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider and Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, alongside Joe Atkinson, Xavion Campbell-Brown, Olivia-Rose Deer, Anya Ferdinand, Danny Fogarty, Adrian Grove and Eva-Rose Tanaka.

Astin’s final performance is scheduled for 12 December 2026, while Hyland will continue until 23 January 2027.

The production is currently booking through to 18 September 2027 and has now surpassed its 1,900th performance, making it the longest-running production of Cabaret in West End history.

This year marks both the 60th anniversary of the musical, which first opened on Broadway in November 1966, and the fifth anniversary of Rebecca Frecknall’s acclaimed London production, which opened in November 2021.

A special celebration will take place at the Kit Kat Club on 20 November, with a limited allocation of anniversary tickets available at £19.66, £60 and £196.60.

Astin is known for his screen work in Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and So Help Me Todd. His stage credits include Spring Awakening on Broadway, RENT, Into the Woods and Little Shop of Horrors.

Hyland rose to international fame as Haley Dunphy in Modern Family. Her theatre work includes The Great Gatsby, Just in Time, Grey Gardens and Little Shop of Horrors, while her screen credits include Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin and Love Island USA.

The production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff, based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.

Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, the production features set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte and lighting design by Isabella Byrd.
