The Bridge Theatre is marking its eighth birthday with the launch of a brand-new podcast series, The Bridge Theatre Podcast, offering audiences a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of London’s most dynamic venues.
The 10-part series, commissioned by the Bridge Theatre and produced by award-winning content studio Pardon Our French Productions, premieres today with new episodes released weekly every Friday.
Recorded and filmed entirely on location, The Bridge Theatre Podcast takes listeners on a journey through the building — from backstage to box office — highlighting the people, processes and passion that bring productions to life.
Hosted by Pauline Fallowell, Director of Marketing and Audiences at The Bridge, each episode features in-depth conversations with cast, crew, creatives and collaborators.
“This podcast is about giving audiences access to the people in all areas of theatre, finding out what motivates them in their specific role and why they love theatre as a whole,” said Fallowell. “Many of the people we interviewed have been with The Bridge since the beginning or have come back to do multiple projects with us, so it felt like the perfect thing to launch to celebrate our eight years and celebrate the people that have got the theatre to this milestone. Whether you’re a regular audience member or new to The Bridge, we want to share the magic, the effort and the humour each of these people bring every day to their jobs and the industry.”
The series continues a longstanding collaboration with Pardon Our French Productions, who have also created cinematic trailers for Richard II, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Lady from the Sea, currently playing at The Bridge until 8 November.
Jonny Bunyan, Executive Producer at Pardon Our French Productions, added:
“Theatre is where I started my career — and it’s still my first love. We’re absolutely thrilled to bring this podcast to life with The Bridge team. There’s so much that happens before the curtain rises, and this series gives us the chance to shine a light on the incredible people and stories that make theatre happen — often in ways audiences never get to see.”
The first episode features actor David Moorst, who recently played Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Future guests include Fight Director Kate Waters, Head of Stage James Edwards, and Choreographer Arlene Phillips.
Episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms and on the Bridge Theatre’s YouTube channel.
