MISCHIEF’s hit production The Comedy About Spies will return to the West End this summer following its WhatsOnStage Award win for Best New Play and an Olivier nomination for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.
The show was announced during Henry Lewis and Kenny Wax’s acceptance speech at the WhatsOnStage Awards. It follows a sold‑out 21‑week season in 2025 and will play a strictly limited run at the Adelphi Theatre from 1 August to 26 September 2026.
Audiences can sign up at www.SpiesComedy.com for priority access to tickets, which go on sale at 10am on Friday 13 March. More than 4,500 reduced price seats will be available, with prices ranging from £15 to £49.50. General sale opens at midday on Monday 16 March.
Written by MISCHIEF originals Henry Lewis and Henry Shields and directed by Matt DiCarlo, the production features set design by David Farley, costume design by Deborah Andrews, movement direction by Shelley Maxwell, lighting design by Johanna Town, and sound design and composition by Jon Fiber for Jollygoodtunes. Jonathan Sayer serves as Executive Producer.
The story follows a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top‑secret weapon, prompting CIA and KGB operatives to descend on London’s Piccadilly Hotel. With a clueless young couple, a hapless actor hoping to play James Bond, and a tangle of double agents, chaos ensues in true MISCHIEF style.

The return of The Comedy About Spies comes during a landmark year for MISCHIEF. Alongside The Play That Goes Wrong, the company will also launch its first‑ever musical, Thespians, which opens in Colchester in May before a short tour ending in Manchester in July. Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will also return later this year following its successful 2025 run.
