Renowned magician and New York Times crossword constructor David Kwong brings his acclaimed show The Enigmatist to the UK for the first time this November.
Following sold-out runs in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago and Toronto, The Enigmatist will play at Wilton’s Music Hall from Monday 24th to Saturday 29th November, with a press night on Monday 24th November at 7pm.
Part magic show, part puzzle adventure, The Enigmatist invites audiences to solve clues, chase mysteries, and marvel at mind-bending illusions. Kwong’s unique blend of sleight-of-hand, wordplay, and cerebral enigmas promises a truly immersive experience.
The Los Angeles Times praised Kwong for creating “a magical sense of togetherness,” while the New York Times described the show as “like a spin class for the frontal lobe… by the time Kwong finished, the room was loopy with delight.”
Kwong, a Harvard graduate who studied the history of magic, is a veteran “cruciverbalist” whose puzzles regularly appear in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal. He is also a TED Talk favourite and author of Spellbound: Seven Principles of Illusion to Captivate Audiences and Unlock the Secrets of Success.
Produced by Erica Fee and James Seabright, The Enigmatist will coincide with American Thanksgiving, and Wilton’s resident caterers The Gatherers will offer themed food to pre-show diners throughout the week.
Erica Fee, CEO and Founding Festival Producer of the Rochester Fringe Festival, and James Seabright, Olivier Award-winning producer and associate artist of Wilton’s Music Hall, bring their transatlantic expertise to this UK premiere.
Wilton’s Music Hall, a Grade II* listed building and the only surviving Grand Music Hall in the world, continues to host world-class performances in London’s East End.
